Wings of Liberty

One fine morning, I woke up to the song of a beautiful blue bird
Sitting on my window, proclaiming sunrise… embracing the new day…
Looking around, waking the mortals nearby… with its soothing melodies…
As the sunlight peeked into my room with a pleasant morning breeze…

I envy that bird… because it had wings and a sweet voice that sings…
I wished that morning… I wished I had its wings… so beautiful and so strong…
I would have flown away from this cage of obligation and responsibility…
Away to the farthest of lands… I had seen in my dreams and reverie…

I would have traveled to the distant islands… lunged into unknown lakes…
No boundaries would have stopped me… no guilt would've chained me…
I would have savored on every fruit unknown… endless feasts…
And would've relished the exotic and survived the wild and its beasts…

I would have darted up so high… soaring in the sky like a rocket…
That I could touch the clouds… and see the world above ‘em…
Or would have made a couch on them… and spent a dreamy eve…
I would have danced in the first rains… a childhood I've wished to relive…

I would have winged atop the mountains… and sung a song of victory…
I would have sipped water from the lonely lakes of the barren aridity…
I wouldn't 've dreaded the darkest caves… and challenged the most difficile things…
I would've conquered the vastness of oceans... and withstood the stormy winds…

I would have fleeted to the faraway countries… witnessed the diversities…
I would have seen humans battle… over religion, race, needs and creeds…
Watched ‘em with eyes full of pity… and prayed for love, peace and sanity…
If only I had those wings – Those strong, beautiful, blue Wings of Liberty.

Our First Kiss

I looked into your beautiful, blue eyes… as they explored mine…
Trying to read my thoughts… probing my feelings and hidden diffidence…
As you held my hands tight… sprouting care… vitalizing love…
I could feel your breath… loaded with freshness and floral redolence…

I could hear your heartbeat… amidst that imposing silence…
I could feel the closeness… and the warmth… caressing me softly…
As you closed into my torso… as if longing for a special hug…
I could feel a wave of happiness and amore flowing all over me…

I could see your face turning pink… I could see your lips growing…
Our hearts beating together… as if dancing to a beautiful rhythm…
I could see your eyes sealing, as your face came closer to mine…
And in a moment of passion… our lips met… sparkling love divine…

I could feel your desire… I could feel your inert storm… amplifying…
I could feel your longing… I could feel the pleasure… intensifying…
As our bodies crushed each other… our souls desiring unison…
I could feel your softness… and the enormity of your sea of emotion…

As our lips grappled in passion… a tiny little tear rolled out of your eyes…
It brought with it a privy pain… that you hid in your beautiful heart…
I could feel it unraveling… your mystic feelings… in pain and in pleasure…
With the intensity magnifying… unveiling your endless love, I treasure…

That was a dreamy moment… when everything else had paused…
A moment filled with boundless love and passion… all set free…
As you smiled and turned pink… and our lips locked in immortal bliss…
But that lonely drop of tear… of pain and ecstasy… had glorified our first kiss…

The Clamoring Silence

A thousand candles, raised close to their bosom…
With hands protecting the blinking… quivering flame…
They all walked through the streets… with placards of outcry…
Silently, peacefully, they marched… with hearts full of dissent…

Their eyes were swollen… filled with incessant tears…
Their souls grieved for her… she hadn’t died in vain…
They wanted a thousand deaths… for her beastly violators…
Faces looked red with loath… as they silently walked in disdain…

Their hearts prayed peace for her brave young soul…
A billion hearts wreathing in pain with her sufferings…
The Gods had been watching this… helplessly in disgust…
How could they create… evil monsters in human frames?

There are many like her… some dead and some live like dead…
Some wept in reticence… everyday… till their mortal body survived…
They never got their life back… their happiness murdered…
With horror of violence they live… and everyday their soul has died…

A thousand now walk for them… the victims yet filled with guilt…
A slap on the face of society… which detests… abandons the violated…
Which leaves them for death… instead of a life of love and dignity…
Virtually glorifying the violence… so inhuman… an endless insanity…

There was spirit in their walk… there was silence in the streets…
But there was an unconditional uproar in everybody’s hearts…
It was an army of candles… a troop of fighters against injustice…
They might be mute today… but there are clamors in their silence…
